Woah great work on gimp!!! I have gimp but don't use it often. I find its hard to paint with. You've done better on Gimp then I could ever do!!! If you could download a free Photoshop or SAI program, that would be even easier!
One thing you can do is make multiple layers and make them as Multiply effect (or transparent, not sure how Gimp works). And then you can add colour on different layers without messing up your lines (keep the lines on a Multiply layer on top).

Haha, I actually sadly use gimp! It's not ever coloring, I don't know how to do that? I just use the paint bucket and fill in areas with color! Omg, that would be awesome if you could tell me! :D

You did really well! What program did you use to colour it? Maybe I can give you some tips to make it easier! Usually when I colour, I use my tablet so its way easier. Coloured pencils are awesome! but not when mixed with a scanner >_<

Haha, I know right! This picture was pretty easy to crop out! I'm gonna have to teach myself to color! Or maybe I just need good coloring materials instead of color pencils lol.
